None of us have any control how we start out in life. But we have enough crossroads or choice in our life, and I know God is always reaching out to us. that if we live long enough we will eventually learn and make the right choices.
I think of what Revelation says about the "Great Tribulation", that we all have our tribulations. Our Giants to conquer. The cult was a connecting point in our tribulation.
But like all good stories, the protagonist will make some bad choices, and go through some hard times, and then overcome them in the end. That is the making of a good stories. A story with no troubles is not a good story.
"To him that overcometh, I will give a crown of life." We can still get the crown.
some people coming out of the cult are in the SURVIVOR STAGE. But there is an OVERCOMER STAGE. And to be an OVERCOMER is not to have to do anything outstanding. It is about STILL HAVING FAITH IN GOD, after the evil in the cult near but destroyed everyone's faith. There are people who have lost their faith. That is the sad part. Many in the younger generation.
But the good thing for the younger generation is they have longer to live that the older generation. That means more chances to make mistakes and bad choices, before they finally see where they lead, and then learn to make better choices.
I love that old hymn, "When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be, when we all see Jesus, we'll sing and shout the Victory."
> Yes it's been a long hard road.
> But I can honestly say that verse has been true about the path
> that shines more and more unto the perfect day.
> Once we get to heaven and all these trouble are over and our
> minds are clear and our memory restored etc. We'll have stories
> to tell.
