I agree, modern medicine sure can make a difference and alot of it can be non addictive.
I'm a lot like Lolo, though, sucking back a Tylenol or something once or twice a year and that just about does it. But there was a time when depression was getting the best of me and I was waking up every night around 3:00 - 4:00 am every morning. In the summer, I'd get up and go for a walk. In the winter, I'd watch the same info commercials over and over and over. I finally bought a bottle of St. John's Wort and was amazed how it alleviated my symptoms - perhaps something to do with my serotinon levels. I've read testimonies where going too long without treatment can lead to a psychotic break where treatment WON'T work. I've read too, that once the symptoms are alleviated, therapy can begin and if resolution is found there is no more need for the medicine. Fortunately for me, I found resolution a few days after buying the St John's Wort and have been healthy ever since, well, except for when I overdose on caffeine.
