In Response To: On having fun... (Chris)

Chris, I guess you could say having fun and doing the things you enjoy are the same things. When I first left the Family I was the same way, I didn’t know how to have fun and I was almost afraid to. One thing I did not know is what things I enjoyed. I can now say some 17years later that there are a lot of things I enjoy, such as: I love taking pictures; my wife and I have taken three cruises to the Caribbean that I thoroughly enjoyed, that was great fun. We took one 7-day cruise with George and Woodie, Joseph and Jane and their family. My wife has never been in TF and it was with her help that I was even willing to consider it, but it was fantastic. I have a picture in my living room that says “ When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee;” and just before our first cruise that picture practically jumped off the wall at me, I knew it was the Lord encouraging me. There is a link below with some pictures of our last cruise.

I have found that there are a lot of things I enjoy doing what I listed above are only a few. I am a carpenter and I love making things, not just useful things, but ornamental things also. We travel a lot, something Mary and I both enjoy. I really enjoy computers also. Most of the time we both have some project going that we really enjoy. I think for you and your wife having just come out of TF, you might not know what you enjoy, so my suggestion would be to get out and try some things and the more you do the more you will began see the Lord in a completely different light, he isn’t sitting there ready to pass judgment on you. Personally I would say He also wants us to do the things we enjoy or have fun doing. Those are some of the things I like and I am sure others also have more things that they enjoy or have fun doing.
