The last episode ended when the leadership in Paris broke up our happy home in Fougeres France. I was taken to the home near Caen France and immediately on my arrival was put to litnessing on the walking street in Caen. My heart was broken and I wasn't paying too much attention on whether I did well bringing in funds or reaching lost souls. My entire focus was on my sadness and confusion. Would I ever seen my fiance again? He had been sent to another home and they refused to tell me where. During the course of the afternoon I was a robot going through the motions of litnessing and was extremely surprised to find that I brought in a fortune. The other brothers and sisters were saying how burnt out the town was and couldn't believe that I had brought in anything.
We then hitchhiked to our home which was way out of town. We got dropped off on some obscure dirt road and then walked several kilometers, past cows in pastures and through a green woods. Eventually we came through the woods and came in the back yard. The house was one of those old old French countryhouses. Walls three feet thick or more. The slate tiles on the roof looked hundreds of years old with moss growing on them. An ancient stone wall surrounded the back yard that was overgrown with green grass and tender plants. Inside the house the rooms were small, the kitchen and storage room downstairs and the other living quarters upstairs. Quaint and snug. I began to be a bit interested in where I was living and it cheered my heart to be in the country.
The only person from this home that I definitely remember is Judah, the area shepherd. He was French and young, like we all were then. He had been a student and a communist before joining the Family. Judah was a kind person and tried to console me about Jeremy my fiance, but he still wouldn't tell me where he was. Judah would more often than not be my litnessing partner and he would play guitar for me as I sat on the benches by the side of the road and cry.
I remember a couple of road trips that I took with two American brothers. We stopped on our way hitchhiking to St Michel(sp?) and visited the beaches where some of the fighting took place during WWII. It was eerie. The beaches were at the foot of the cliffs, big wide sandy beaches. We could see the cement bunkers up on the cliffs that the Germans used. The quietness of the beach was creepy. Usually quiet is associated with peacefulness but it just seemed sad. Very sad. I was rather overwhelmed with emotion in this place.
We went on our way towards the towns of St Michel and St Malo. In St Malo we walked along the top of the wall that surrounded the old town. I get the distinct feeling that we spent some time sightseeing on this particular road trip.
After two weeks of idealic living in our country home and a couple of interesting roadtrips the leadership for some idiotic reason decided to close the country home and move all of us to the modern apartment in town. It sucked. It was in a high rise apartment and really ugly. I sunk into the deepest funk yet being in this horrid place with no beautiful God made nature around. After two weeks of me crying the whole time Judah told me that I was going to be reunited with Jeremy. I was sent to the town of Nantes.
