I believe the scriptures prove that the 70 weeks prophecy of Dan.9:24-27 is the same time frame as Matthew 24, which includes the second coming of Christ in the clouds and the resurrection of the believers.(rapture) In Jesus own words, he sets the timing," immediately after the tribulation" as the "appointed time of the end."(This is referring to the end of satan's rule on earth, not the end of earth itself.)
This period of Great Trubulation(Mt.24:21)is a known period of time set forth in the word as 42 months, 1,260 days, time, times, and 1/2 a time.(3 1/2),in which the anti-christ, beast, little horn, son of perdition, rules the earth. The 7 Trumpets take place during the Great Tribulation, followed by the 7 vials of Wrath. At the 7th Trumpet, Christ comes in the clouds of heaven and resurrects all believers to the marriage supper or the Lamb in heaven. At the same time(which lasts for 45 days) the 7 vials begin to pour out upon the wicked still on earth. It is at the 6th vial of God's wrath, Jesus and the heavenly armies return to planet earth to defeat anti-christ and his armies at the battle of Armageddon. So, the order is: Great Tribulation, Second Coming of Christ, Wrath of God-Armageddon, Millenial Reign of Christ, New Heaven and New Earth.......
Now to tie Mt.24 to Dan.9:27 , which is the 70th week or final week(meaning 7 years) of this prophecy. It is in the midst(middle) of the last week(7 yrs.) that the anti-christ rule begins. Half of 7= 31/2 yrs. which is the same time he rules the earth.(Rev.13:5) You will also notice that this final week is seperated by verse as well
from the other 69 weeks in Daniel. It has not happened yet. I understand that there was activity concerning the last temple which was destroyed by the Romans which foreshadowed what anti-christ will do. Even if you leave Dan.9 out completely, there is more than enough evidence in many other scriptures which agree with this scenario and timing. There is at least one variable in this whole end time plot. The Lord is ,in some way going to shorten those day for the sake of the elect. But the Lord's timing has been set forth in his word, and we have no reason to be ignorant of prophecy, so that ye brethern are not in darkness that "that day" should overtake us as a thief. Trust in the Lord, and not that of your own selves.In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. The prayer says His kingdom is coming, and His will(not ours) will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven. His word will come to pass(for the Lord is not slack concerning His promises, and does not lie as a man) as it is written and spoken by the prophets, including the greatest one: Jesus Christ.(Rev.19:10) He alone is worthy to be honored and praised. The kingdom that is coming has a king whose name is Jesus and is a kingdom that will never be destroyed or taken away. Rev.20:4b: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands: and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. We are called to be overcomers even as Christ overcame and is seated at the right hand of God. If you believe the 70th week is yet to come, as I do, it all begins when "he confirms the holy covenant with many for one week." Halfway through,the the armies of anti-christ invade the Jewish temple, stop their daily sacrifice, and sets up the "abomination of desolation" spoken of by Jesus(Mt.24:15) and Daniel.(Dan.11:31) Jesus is obviously was speaking in the future tense about the abomination of desolation, plus, he lived some several hunred years after Daniel. I believe we are on the doorsteps of the last 7 years. We are the "last generation" to live before the fulfillment of all these thing. Ours is a generation that the prophets spoke of, and longed to see themself.
