I think you're right George that "World" would be better understood as 'Age'.However, I think there are other verses that kind of tie 'aion' to 'kosmos" In-other-word it's the 'Age' (aion) of the 'worldy'-(kosmos) system.

The Apostles may hve been thinking about "the end of the World/Age" as being close at hand or even a few decades in the future but Jesus seems to have been responging to their questions with fulfillments far in the future when he said "And this gospel...preached in all the World (oikoumene habitable earth or land) for a witness unto all Nations--THEN shall the END come" (Mt 24:14) The END of what? The Age/Aion/World! Remember, they had asked what shall be the sign of the END OF THE AGE" Jesus tells them it would be when they had preached the gospel in all the land area of the world to all nations. Now, the Apostles may have thought that they had preached the gospel in all the "habitable world" and some may try and pound this square idea into their round interpretation but everybody knows they didn't. So, anyhow that's my opinion.

I kind of look at this both spiritually and physically. Spiritually, I believe the end of the 'law and the prophets or Old Testament Age' ended with the "death of the testator" of the "New Covenant(He 9:16). I understand the 'new age' to have begun then spiritually with Christ"s resurrection. And the "old Age/Dispensation/Covenant" only ended "spiritually" in Christ.

Jesus didn't destroy the law and the prophets but fulfilled them-Mt5;17 The 'new age' or 'new creation' only exists in the spiritual now in Christ IICor 5:17 When Jesus returns He destroys the "Kosmos/World" and finishes this 'present Age" and the "New Aion/Age/World" begins. Paul called it this "present World/Aion and that (World/Aion) which is to come" Ep 1:21

George, if there are heresy trials coming I may be included because I have a lot of strange conspiratorial ideas plus I see some of the things that Joel is talking about. I don't understand his connections with Daniel and Revelation but I do see all the negative ML connection with the Family being the Green Door, The Asylum, The School, Nitler etc. It's like that 'back-masking' in the music--it is there and it shows a very
negative anti-christ spirit--When I finally saw this stuff clearly, is when I got booted out of the group for telling them so. I just didn't want anymore 'Chinese Spirits" and wanted to get out of their "Upside-down little town" Of 'The Crash" where all 'the MOney was shrinking"and ruled by the "evil bird-faces" the CROw'S-HA! HA! All the Mo letters are like a reverse negative and it's all about them. Like some kind of cosmic joke which would be pretty funny if it wasn't so seriously wrong.
