Thanks for sharing that. I didn't mean to derail what Jane was saying about her mom. But all those things about the complications that being in a cult brings to a family were wanting to get out, I guess. I nearly canceled the post; thinking that that what I was writing was just something that I needed to think through on my own, but didn't need to share it here. However, as I was pondering that, I also realized that others could probably relate, and had their own stories to share.
I'm glad that you have important relationships in your life, like that of your daughter-in-law. I've always believed that God would provide the relationships that he wanted me to have. Like Jesus said, "Who is my mother.....?" As for my genetic relatives, I remain very close to my mother and dad's family, (e.g. aunts, uncles, cousins). They have been much more forgiving and accepting of me. They are very dear.
