In Response To: Teen-age Hell (Tired)

I have been reading your posts and responses with sadness and happiness, since so many of us have the same experiences. I identify with many of you. Getting involved in sports is a great suggestion. I would like to add that if you can interest your teens at all in one type of education, whether it be math, writing, art, music, drama, computers or anything taught in colleges, and explain the benefits of going to college, they might listen. Almost every topic is taught in colleges today. All of my kids told me later that they knew that not going to college was not an option. It was ingrained in them everyday. However, keeping them out of trouble while teens is sometimes difficult if they have any of the risk-taking traits we had ourselves. I literally had to sit on one of my kids to keep her from going out to parties and getting into trouble. It was a hard time but as many of you said here, it does get better.
