Hello Folks, my name is Woodie. Some of you know me as Mrs. George. It appears that some of you had a really good idea; A Board for X-COG Women, to discuss our unique issues. And believe me we have some. It is one I've been talking to George and Joseph for a while. Thanks folks for calling it forth, and thanks coordinators for making it happen. Here's a little about who I am. Well, that's too long a story, but here's a quick sketch, and you'll get to know me as hopefully this board more fully develops.

I joined the COG in 1971 with the Vancouver Jesus People. I grew up in a Christian home though I got wrapped up in the Hippie movement in the 1960s. I met George at TSC and we were sent to Europe on one of the Great Escape waves. We came back to the states in 1979 and finally cut our final ties with the COG in 1984. With several children we spent most of our time in survival mode.

We floundered around for quite some time trying to figure which way to turn. We met some wonderful and some goofy people. I went back to school and at 55 I received my Master of Arts in Theology. In my studies I became focused on History and Women's Studies. I began to see that on the pages of History, women have been written on the back side of the page. In theological studies I found out why, and why it is the very black-eye of society and the church. All of this began to help me in my personal growth and healing from the lies and confusion of the COG. I know that is really over-simplified. But anyway, I know I'm not the only one with concerns, confusions, frustrations, bitterness, hurt, some resolved and some not. Ladies, lets talk about it.
