Sorry if I got testy. I was just beginning to get the feeling that I was being asked to do the actual digging here, while others sat back and gave me thumbs down (though I did get a couple of thumbs up). Maybe I'm being overly sensitive.
I have read both Sproul and Grudem (not on the subject of Hebrews, per se, but on all the "woman" issues in this thread); I've also read much more. It is a subject that is important to both of us, and we have shelves of books that deal with it.
I don't expect that everyone will agree with me. All I ask is that posters give reasonable consideration to the authors/articles we suggest, to round out their perspectives -- and not just fall back to the position they're most familiar with.
