Having been in a polygamous marriage for more than 10 years, it's a very deep subject for me, obviously. I know this article is from 05, but it's pretty relevant. I find it intersting that the French Govt is making more problems by turning a blind eye to the issue because they are afraid of being called racist. That seems to be a word that trumps everything else, including women's issues such as this. I find that sad:

Another thing that makes me ponder and gives me reason to pause, was a documentary of sorts where they showcased women from polygamous societies (Africa maybe?) who were trumpeting the value of polygamy and how could one woman take care of her children without help, etc.? I thought they sounded very brainwashed.
