Well, I only had four but by todays averages that is a little much. However by Family averages for my time period...It's not that many. The wierd thing is though, my kids were spaced rather far apart. My first one and then two years later my second. That was our little family for almost three years. Then we went back down to one again for about two years, due to our sick little one passing away. Then we added another one and we became that grouping for ten years. The kids weren't that close in age and so they didn't steal each others toys or get into much mischief together. Mostly it was individual mischief. Then after the ten year period was up, we were blessed with a surprise. That upset the apple cart. We had one almost grown and now a new baby. Yikes! We used to joke that we had one in drivers training and one in potty training.

So I have had four children total but never all at the same time. Sometimes we had an only child at home and some times they came in pairs. On the rarest of occasions we have all of the remaining three together.

I would have liked to have a big family. I think. But God gave me what he did, when he did and that's turned out to be just fine.

As for abortion...a sticky subject, I know. I don't believe in it for myself personally. It makes me very sad when someone feels that is the best option. However, when a friend of mine needed someone to be with her, I went with her. It didn't mean that I approved of her action but I still loved her and knew that she needed me. It was very hard to sit in that office and see all of those women. And I was pregnant! I desperately wanted my baby. All of them, even the Jesus baby, even the little surprise at the end.

I feel honored to have had the experience of pregnancy and motherhood. My two sisters never did and it is a sorrow in their lives. I know one woman from the Family who never had children despite all of the FFing and sharing that she did. No babies. She wanted them but just never got pregnant.
