Gin, my heart goes out to you. I can only begin to imagine what you went through. I know how bad it was for us and we had a great support system. How you managed to do all you did is really outstanding!

There is another quote from a psychologist whose main focus was on helping excult members, Margaret Singer - it encouraged me many times. Dr. Singer said in one of her books that "cult members seem to have a stamina almost beyond human comprehension." I think you have pretty well proved that point! She attributed being able to recoop after being in a cult to a "boundless spirit and unbeatable will to heal themselves, reclaim their independence, and come out on the positive side." That quote helped me a lot. I kept thinking, well, there must be a light at the end of the tunnel. And I guess there has been for the most part.
