In Response To: You are ''unteachable'' (Tired)

It can work both ways, I've heard of kids being told that, and they rebelled and went on to prove how teachable they were!

You said yourself how difficult he was, did they give specifics? Is he disruptive in class? Do they see him as behaviourable disruptive? If all the teachers are saying this, then there is definately a problem.

BUT never forget that you can definately defend your child, attack the teachers and ask them what's wrong with their teaching style that they can not reach and help your child. Most schools these days are definately all about inclusion, that means if there is a learning disablity we are suppose to find out how to reach them and help them. If the child is gifted and bored were suppose to come up with programes that can challange and hold their attention.

Don't feel cowed by teacher's authority, they have a duty to help you, and if they don't (if it is a public school) you can write and complain about your child's treatment, I'm not sure with a private school what sort of options you have. But if you think they have been unfair, then attack!

Take for example a teacher grabbed my son's shoulder, now, it could be that my son was being provocative, but I know that it's not allowed to be physical with children, so I told them they either apologise or I would call the authorities.

They did apologise, and one thing schools fear is parents writing letters!
