WOW! Now that's a mouthful. I find much Christians theology still hangs onto the OT. Jews and Muslims as well.
I do find Jesus getting mad at the folks that were merchandising the temple. But when his followers wanted to call down fire on a city, Jesus did't let them. He did warn of a pretty hefty devastation on Jerusalem, which Josephus records in 70AD as a real blood bath. Was that God, or Rome? I don't know.
Before Rome became the capital of Christianity, Christians were known for their gentleness, care of the needy and willingness to "turn the other cheek".
Berg called down a lot of stuff that didn't come. Well it sort of came on himself. If that's how it works I think I'll try another way.
You are right. There are a lot of angry people hurting a lot of other people and making them angry and so on. I wonder does, God get the blame for mean people, or vice-versa.
I think it's Rabbi Kushner who writes, concerning the question of "Why do Bad things Happen to Good People", the problem of pain is not a question that we can always answer, but its more about about how we respond to bad situations.
I think in the big picture of history, the people who have made the choices, like helping Jews in Nazi Germany, to doing some volunteering in the neighborhood are the ones who keep life flowing. I find that hard to do at times. It's easier to get mad, especially when I'm right as rain and the bonehead that's the culprit has no integrity and gets away with it.
Yea, I think God Gets angry.
