My faith is not what it used to be, either. I have just found that it helps to believe in something greater than myself. I call it my higher power. What is it? I dunno exactly, but I put my hope in a loving, wise energy that is more than myself alone, and therefore, higher.
I go to a women's AA group on Saturday mornings. We talk alot about what we believe in and don't believe in. Nobody pretends to have all the answers, but we have a way structuring our discussion around spiritual steps. To get into this, it helps if you're an addict or the child of an alcoholic. The 12 Steps help me order my ways and means toward something greater than myself and my existential misery with life.
Something we do in our meetings is lift peoples' names up to our higher power, who most (but not all) call of us God. So, I'll lift up your name and intentions as a friend of Bill's. (Bill is another part of the AA story.) There are many families in the world. Dunno what you do for social support, but I'm hoping you are not too isolated in your situation. You're on the internet, and there's family here, too.
