In Response To: you did that? (lydia)

I remember my second daughter loved to read, and was determined to get some kind of an education. She was about 14 I think, and we were in a Home that was pretty close to a public library. We used to take a "get out walk" together every so often and we'd go to the library, she'd check out books, we'd "smuggle them in" and she'd stay up late at night reading with a flashlight under her covers! This worked, because I was a single mom and so of course slept in a room with all 6 of my kids, so she could get away with it. (This is the same daughter who this week started her student teaching at the local high school, will be getting her teaching degree in May with high honors!...couldn't resist a little proud parent talk).

The things we all did that should have been unnecessary.... but on the positive side, this same daughter remembers the "sneak library trips" to this day with fondness as a special "mother/daughter moment", ha!
