Ann Rice must be a very interesting person...her books have certainly gone through quite a number of changes in direction! I have read one of her earliest series- before she started writing about vampires and witches- the "Beauty and the Beast" series which is EXTREMELY erotic, an adults only fantasy series basically about dominance and submission. (Don't read them unless you are very very open minded. I, however, loved them.)

To go from the Beauty and the Beast series to this latest book (which I have not read but evidently, from reading some of the summaries, portrays Mary favorably for being the eternal virgin)is quite a leap!
